Configuration

In this section is defined which hardware and software configurations are going to be used.

Configuration

Hardware Platform: Indicates type of hardware platform being used.

Configuration: Indicates the configuration that is going to be used.

Installation Mode: Select “normal” for a fresh installation, “single_node_to_add” and “single_node_to_create” for SMU in a cluster and “split_mode” for SMU to simplex. For more details refer to Installation and Upgrade Guide.

Node Separation: Choose separate for node separation scenario or none for collocated nodes.

Survival Authority: IP address of Survival Authority.

Software Build ID: Software version of the build id.

OpenScape UCS Xpress: This field is only available for IBM x3250M2 and M3 servers. It indicates an OpenScape UC Server Xpress installation. A core component of the OpenScape UC Server Xpress deployment is the Xpressions server. In this case the IP address of the Xpressions server needs to be added as “csta_server” in the “CSTA Servers” table.

Preferred Node to TakeOver: It is the first OSV node that tries
to deactivate the partner node after a x-channel failure to
avoid a split brain scenario.

Time zone: Set the system time zone. See: man timezone for more information.
Basically, in the directory /usr/share/zoneinfo you will find files and directories. The directory US is for the US time zones. Some examples are: Europe, Berlin/US, Pacific Asia, Hong Kong, etc. To manually change the time zone to US/Mountain do the following as root: ~srx/startup/srxctrl 2 0, cd /usr/share/zoneinfo, cp US/Mountain /etc/localtime. Reboot the machine then do the other node.

Keyboard-layout: Set the system keyboard-layout.

Redundancy

Location Node 1(CLLI): Common Language Location Identifier of node 1.

Location Node 2(CLLI): Common Language Location Identifier of node 2.

Stand Alone Service Enabled: Select if you wish to have Stand Alone Service.

X-Channel Compression: Select if you wish to enable X-Channel Compression.

Cluster Name: The name to be given to the cluster

Node 1:

Name: Node name of first node in cluster

Node 2:

Name: Node name of second node in cluster

Note: In node separation scenario a CLLI Node 2 Name field will also be displayed.

Disk Details

Drive Configuration: Specify the drive configuration. Indicate number of disks and size.

RAID Configuration: The type of RAID controller.
(ServRAID-7k - x346 with add on ServeRAID 7k controller.)
(a320 - x346 base RAID controller (Configuration is not supported.)

Interface Details 1/2

eth#_device: For each interface/node indicate the kind of ethernet device used.
(eepro100 = The older full height ethernet cards. The LED's are part of the RJ45 connector.)
(e1000 = The X345 motherboard ethernet adapters.)
(bcm5700 = IBM 1000 T Dual Ethernet Adapter PN 31P6401.)

Interface Details 2/2

device_1: Indicate the interface to be used by the cluster interconnection and for each bond#.

device_2: Indicate the interface to be used by the cluster interconnection and for each bond#.
